Process side (Seal chamber)

Description:

Circulation of the medium to be sealed from the high-pressure region of the pump (e.g. discharge nozzle) through a cyclone separator into the sealing chamber (cleaned medium to be sealed) and to the low-pressure region of the pump (separated solids).

Common use:

• For solid containing media to be sealed (no slurry)
• For media to be sealed with a difference of the specific gravity between solids and fluid of at least factor 2
• For cooling the process-side (inner) mechanical seal

Application example:

Sealing of river water with a high sand content and use of single-acting mechanical seals to reduce the solid content in the seal chamber.
